Ute Schildt (Doublebass / violone)
had her first music lessons on the guitar and lute with Manfred Zeidler and Karin Bachmann (both pupils of Heinz Teuchert).
She studied lectureship in 1987/88 music, German philology and theology at the University Frankfurt/Main and also 1989 – 1994 music, German philology and sports at the University of Oldenburg. She took lute lessons with Axel Weidenfeld and lessons on the doublebass with Ralf Santo.
Ute received important musical inspiration from Masterclasses with Stephen Stubbs, Han Tol and Thomas Albert and lessons with Nicolas Baldock on the doublebass.
Since 1999 she is a member of the “Europaen Baroque Orchestra Le Chardon” and is regularily working together with international top class musicians of the early music scene, such as: Simon Standage, Huw Daniel, Pieter Dirksen and Hannes Rux.
With this ensemble she took part in many productions, such as: the recording of the CD „Bleibt ihr Engel, bleibt bei mir...” Cantatas and arias by J.S. Bach. Markus Brutscher tenor, Hajo Wienroth traversflute, Mark Baigent oboe. This CD has received top critics in Concerto (the old music magazine), and at the radio stations RB4 and SWR.
2001/2002 she had a lectureship for music at the Internationalen Hochschule Bremen.
Ute Schildt has several double basses, with
others a significant instrument in a cello shape by Pillement
1785.
